Current Environment: TS 6.5 SP2 on Solaris

We just upgraded to 6.5 SP2 and we are experiencing some performance issues with how long it takes to open the forms publishing pages for some of our larger data records (i'm talking about approx 30k in size). From what I can tell it seems to be much slower on IE6 than any other browser I've tried (firefox, mozilla, or netscape). For example, if I open up a form record, it takes from 45-60 seconds in IE, but takes about 15 seconds in the other browsers. I know there is some old posting in devnet about similar issues, but was wondering if people are experiencing this with the more current versions? If so, does anyone know the reason why and is there anything that can be done about it? It looks like the only supported browser for the PC is IE.

I think that since 6.5, the size of the record is much less of a factor then it used to be. I've noticed much faster performance on records with lots of replicants in particular. The main things that slow down performance are the number and speed of inlines that you are running any FormAPI code that runs on load especially anything that uses callServer.

First of all our forms do have form api, callouts, and use of callServer on them. I understand that the more of these, the longer it will take to load the form entry page. The thing that I am wondering is why does it take so much longer to bring up the same data form in IE than any of the other browsers? Is IE much slower at executing the form api or callSever commands than the other browsers?

I'm also having a problem with 6.5. For some of my larger DCT's if I create a new data record the DCT works fine. But if I open an existing DCR that contains a lot of replicants then sometimes my whole computer freaks out and its all I can do to prevent my computer from crashing. The DCT produces a series of tabed product pages. The general fields are outside of containers and the page specific fields are within containers. There is a set of radio buttons to control the display of the large containers. There are 93 items and about 12 containers.

I should also add that removing the FormAPI does not improve the situation at all.
