Ability to Integrate PHP Into Documentum?

Hi,

I am looking for some knowledge regarding documentum 4i.

I was wondering if there were SDKs available for PHP 5 or PHP4.

I have to admit I have only recently started reading about documentum as apart of my project.

So far I have to say from a development standpoint I haven't seen any APIs to use to interface external apps with documentum and it is a bit disappointing.

Any help would be much appreciated!

If you're using PHP you have a few options:

REST - Use the RESTful Services API. It's currently in beta. You can find details of this elsewhere on this site. Not sure if it supports DCTM 4 though - you'd need to check the docs.

SOAP - Use the DFS SOAP API. It's a fairly mature product. The best place to get information on DFS is on Powerlink (you'll need a support account for this site). Not sure if it supports DCTM 4 though - you'd need to check the docs.

CMIS - Use CMIS toolkit (supports SOAP & REST). It's currently in beta and available elsewhere on this site. Not sure if it supports DCTM 4 though - you'd need to check the docs.

DFC - DFC is the core Java API. I'm pretty sure that you could use Quercus, an implementation of PHP that runs under the Java virtual machine to script DFC. This will work fine under DCTM 4, 5 & 6.

DMCL - DMCL is a low level C library that was available under DCTM 4. It's been used previously to integrate with Perl & Ruby.

4i is a very old version of the Documentum product suite, so I don't think there is much available in the way of integration api's. On newer versions, there exists the ability to expose SBO's as web services which could then be consumed from php.

I hate to be a pest but if anyone could provide links to documents somewhere it would be greatly helpful and appreciated...I've already spent 4 hours looking and i think my boss might kill me if i spent even more time tomorrow haha.
