TBO folder creation?

I've got a code which auto creates a folder when I create a custom document.

I want the folder to be created at any place that I'm working on. e.g if I'm creating a document /Systems/Folder I want the folder to be created on /Systems/Folder and link the folder into the destination folder.

The problem I have now when I'm working on /Systems/Folder my code creates folder on Home Cabinet and link it into the destination folder.

I don't want the folder to be created on the Home cabinet if i'm not working on the home cabinet. I want the folder to be created on the home cabinet only if i'm working on the home cabinet.

Below is my code:

newFolder.setObjectName(super.getObjectName());

Its writing to Home Cabinet first, because you are executing save() before link(). Just remove the first save() and you should be fine.

Tou can try this.

Link the object (to /System/Folder) and then save .

ie :

// newFolder.save();

It moves the folder to the destination folder.

I don't want to move the folder from the place I created.

I want to link it into the destination folder.

For example if I'm working on /Systems/Folder I want the folder to be on /Systems/Folder and link it to /Supply Chain cabinet.

I want my folder to saved in two places

Add one more link statement .

First link the object with '/System/Folder ' and then link it with '/Supply Chain Cabinet'

I'm not always going to work on '/System/Folder'

I'm going to work on different folders or cabinets.

How can I get a folder that I'm currently working on and link folder on it.

I guess, since it's a TBO that runs when creating a document, you could 1st get the document's location, assuming the folder should be the same and then do you process using that ....

I presume you mean the location in Webtop that you are pointing to. If so, then this customization should be embedded in custom WDK component. TBO code only extends server side methods, so you dont necessary have access to UI based variables/events.

Hi,

Try using the getFolderId(index) method of the current SysObject, where index 0 will be the first fold

er link to the document. That should give you the current location, if it does not work please provide more information about your TBO. Hope this will help.

Johnny gave you the correct answer. You need to customize your Webtop's to handle this logic. I am not sure it's good idea to place this logic at your TBO level, since a TBO can be called even if you use another client, i.s. DA, custom DFC, etc... even DQL/API commands are BOF aware, post 6X, as you know. So, if your requirement is restricted only to Webtop's UI, then customization is your best option.
