Restricting file types on import

Hello everyone,

We have a custom import screen that we're using to imort a few different document types. One of these file types should only be a PDF file. Is there a way to we can set it that the "File of types" is set to PDF for this one document type (the document type is passed to the component as a parameter so we do know what that is up front)?

Which version are you using? In D6, this can be done very easily with Webtop Presets.

We are on 6.5, but Webtop Presets on new to me. I'll look around, but if someone can point me in the direction of where to start I'd appreciate it.

Just to make sure I was clear on my original post, we only need this for our custom import screen, and for one of the document types the use it to import.

Do not know if there is an option to limit the file types that can be selected in the import add dialog. Never tried it. Even if there was you would still have to check files that were added via the user selecting a folder to import... therefore I would look to create a custom validator that fires when a user clicks next. The validator should get the list of files the user has selected and confirm each is an appropiate type. If not then the validator can display a message to the user.

That's the way it's set up now, bu the user doesn't like it that way. They may be stuck with it, though. Thanks for the input!
