Process Builder import / export

Hi y'all !!!

I've one question about Documentum Process Builder 6.5. Is it possible to import / export processes built with Process Builder from / to others standard tools for building business processes like BPEL, BPMN, ...? Or vice-versa. If yes, how please?

Hi Oumo,

You can import/export a process model from/to Documentum Process Analyzer.

From Process Analyzer User guide:

The following target BPM platforms are supported:
• Documentum Process Builder (XPDL)
• BPEL Execution Systems (BPEL)
• Microsoft BizTalk (ODX)
• TIBCO/Staffware (XPDL)
• WebLogic Integration (JPG)
• AquaLogic BPM (XPDL)

Also PA have the Visio Interpreter (which only works with Visio 2003).

Process Builder supports XPDL 1.0, so theoretically you can import a process in this notation. But in practice... its quite difficult to find a (modern) process modelling tool that supports this old version of XPDL. Some significant changes in this regard should be expected in version 7 (in the best case I think).

How you can import/export? Its very simple: go to menu File -> Import/Export. You will see there just 1 option - XPDL.

If you want to exchange models between PA and PB you must setup shared folders before (menu File -> Preferences.

What did you mean "standart tools"?
