Properties of the document based on the Role

Hi all,

I have a requirmnet like this, can any one help me

I have to show the properties of the documents based on the Role..

suppose Role A containes users like x,y they have to read all the properties of the document.

but when user Z login , he able to see only some of the properties...how can i do?

You can customize the component with different scopes

like one component with scope = Role A

and one with scope = Role B

when we say scope=RoleA , only the users in RoleA are able to see the document

and similarly users in RoleB are unable to see the document.

But my requirment is RoleB also able to see the document , but with limited properties like(object_name,title,subject)

Is it possible to achieve ...

Hi Pradeep,

You can have two component(attributes) xmls in custom folder

- one with scope Role A . Customized to display first set of attributes

<component id="attributes" ....

- one with scope Role B . Customized to display second set of attributes

<component id="attributes" ....

So that when a person with Role A logs in , first component gets called . And for Role B second component gets called.

Can you tell me where did you give the scope?

If you are using D6 and above, I believe you can configure presets to hide attributes for users based on roles.

Try presets..

I trying with presets, i gave the role,object_type,specific repositry..

when i go to next windows(rules) attributes section .. it showing message like this

"Attributes" is not applicable to the following setup selection types: "Types".

what i have to do?
