C: Drive repartitioning

I remember a few years ago a techie installed windows NT on a new machine. He created one primary partition (C Smiley Happy

where he installed the operating system.
I was like, "Hey man I need multiple partitions!" and he was like, "Man don't worry".
He then went to something like winnt\system32\ clicked on some things, changed some things. He then reboots and BAM! I have a C:

and E: partition.

Does anyone know what he did? Does anyone know how I can repartition my C:\ drive that already has the OS on it.
The machine I want to repartition now has XP pro on it.

Partition Magic

Might be able to find some shareware/freeware utils on tucows.com or download.com.

None of the freeware ones on download.com work. They show the GUI.

PM is a good one, the cheap one will not split Win2K server but will do XP and 2K pro.
