Webtop Preference

How can we make Preference changes for all the webtop users?, rather than each individuals going and making changes to their webtop.

For example: Format tab

Choose object Type > All Types(all_types)

Primary Format > Acrobate PDF(pdf)

Would you like this content to appear in the web browser? > Yes

Rather than each individual users making these changes, how can we do it for all the webtop users?

If you are using D6 and above configure using Presets. You can add all users to one role and then apply your conditions in that preset

We are using D6 > Webtop6 SP1.

Sorry I have not created a preset.

Can you please give me sort of idea about creating presets?

Refer WDK development guide to get an idea on presets.

Using presets you can configure actions, navigation and other things to the users.

There are bunch of articles on presets in documentum community and also you can find through google.

Let me know if you have any difficulty in understanding presets.

For presets to work properly, global registry shold be configured on the repository and user should be added in some roles.

Let me explain what I am trying to accomplish here

When we go to Webtop > Preferences > Under Column tab > Cabinets > Select the Classic Columns: Edit button, We want the Object Type to be a custom build one. Right now it shows as Default Items .

How can we change that to show up as the Custom one we created? Do we make the change in XML file?
