WorkSite MP and Links in Excel

Do links from MS Excel workbooks to other external Excel Workbooks work in WorkSite MP? I know this doesn't work in WorkSite NT. If it does work, is there anything specific that I have to do to make it work?

to my knowledge ole links do not work reliably in WSMP. This would include excel.

I have successfully used a mechanism to have a link in a word document that you can click on and have it open up; but I don't think that would work in this instance.

If this is a big requirement for you, you should be sure to log a support case so it can be tracked as an enhancment.

I have worked with Product Management and Support for over 2 years on this issue. nothing has been proven successful although they mentioned it has been improved in WorksiteMP 5. Not sure what that means as I have not seen anything tangible. I would think they should have a Webcast set up to demo this.
We currently suggest to users to store linked files in WorksiteMP only to refer back to a "point in time" of data.
Check in/out does not work properly, unless I can get an explanation of how it can.

an example:
We have multiple departments that actually use shared worksheets which are linked to certain modeling worksheets. We want the shared worksheet to live once (this file might have rates associated with loans) and maintained once, but referenced by anyone. I have not found a way for this to work properly.
