DFS Object Service sample SOAP request needed

I'm posting SOAP requests directly to the DFS services.  I've got Search and Query working fine - but having some trouble forming a good SOAP request for the Object Service based solely off the WSDL.  Can someone post a simple Object Service SOAP request example (since there's none in the documentation that I could find)?  If it matters, I'm intending to get back a specific object from a dm_document derived table as base64 encoded data.
