documentum.exe buffer overrun

hi, everyone here:

Does someone encounter this problem?

I design a workflow template with an automatic activity that executes method "BPSIngegration"

I insert this activity called "Start Sub-Processs"  from activity template "Integration Tab" , it has an custom tab named "Start Sub-Process". We have to configure the package mapping to the sub process.

In recent 2 days when I execute to this "Start Sub-Process" the error messsage show on my content server:

Buffer overrun detected!

after this issue happened, every time I restart the Docbase, the error will also happen for a short time.

I find restart java method server will make docbase be restarted successfully.

does someone know this? thanks.

My guess is that you have applied windows hotfix and/or service pack to 5.3 version of Documentum.  5.3 (and any other product version) is only tested and supported for the release(s) that are current at the time.  If you upgrade/patch the OS, then there is no guarantee that Microsoft wont update a dll that Documentum uses and breaks it.

If you have a back up of the OS, restore and then dont allow any updates to OS.  My recommendation though would be to upgrade to a supported version; this way you can hold EMC and/or Microsoft responsible for any changes in dlls.
