Connectors??

Hello All--
I am an SDK kind of gal--however my colleagues have a scenario that uses a product line that creates connectors between ASP applications. I have no idea what this is exactly--but--I'm willing to be enlightened. Anyone out there know what the deal is on how to build connectors?

Version 4.x vs. 8.x appears to play a part.

We have created a mini webcast series on how to create your own connectors and is available on DevNet. Each presentation is approx. 20 minutes in length. To access the series, go to the following link: http://devnet.interwoven.com/site.fcgi/webcasts/index.html. On the right-hand side you will see a section entitled 'Mini Webcasts'. The third item is 'WorkSite 8 Connector Series'. We have 4 sessions that range in experience level with the first webcast designed for the novice and the last webcast designed for the advanced connector developer.

Additionally, if you have WorkSite Web, there is a very detailed connector guide in PDF format on the installation CD.

The significant difference between 4.x and 8.x is that 8.x leverages .NET for development, so connectors are built into assemblies, whereas 4.x used classic ASP. 8.x connectors can be developed using C# or VB.NET.

So is there a dev guide for the 4.1 version?

I couldn't find a document for 4.1, but I did find a guide for 4.0. I don't think there's much difference from 4.0 to 4.1.

Login to worksitesupport.interwoven.com.
Go to the Knowledgebase link on the left.
On the search form, search "WorkPortal" and "connector". Make sure that WorkSite Web is selected in the product list.
The search results will have "WorkPortal 4.0 Connector Developer's Guide".
