W2K TeamSite 5.5.2 SP5 to SP6 prep?

We are prepping for our upgrade to 6.5 and found that our current SP is 5 and not SP6. Unfortunately we found during the install process to 6.5. IWOV support claims the error we received during the install was due to the attempt to upgrade from SP5 directly to 6.5. Should the SP5 to SP6 update be difficult? Our sys admins have done these before with little fanfare and often in short time over an hour or two after hours. Should we expect any issues?

There is a Knowledge base article available on support about the supported ways to upgrade. Unfortunately, an upgrade from sp6 is supported, but sp5 is not.

An upgrade to SP6 should be pretty straight forward. There isn't anything unique about it from an upgrade between SP4 to SP5 for example. You can also download the release notes from support, which contains any special considerations for the upgrade.
