Transport return code invalid

We run test deploys every 5-10 minutes to verify that OD is still responding. About once per day, the test deploy will error with the following:

Locating OpenDeploy service.
Got OpenDeploy service
>>>>>-- Start deployment test-host-ext.
iwodstart running in default synchronous mode.
Need to wait for deployment to complete.
***ERROR - Starting deployment.
Caught exception. Details: Transport return code invalid

No other errors can be found on the recvr or base side. Any idea what might cause this?

The deploy is an area comparison over SSL.
OD 6.02 SP1 + latest patch
Solaris 9 base/Solaris 8 rcvr

Any luck with this. It looks like an network error. I would check the network and check for connectivity issues.

Any how idea how to confirm it is a network problem?

When we keep retrying for 4/5 times the error goes off and the deployment is completed.

We tried telnet to the reciever from the base server in port 20014 and it successfully connected.

I never got anywhere with this. Since it was isolated to a dev server, I just ignored the error the few times it popped up.

Did you had any lead with this problem?

Any idea whether it has something to do with SSL, acquiring connection to OD reciever..

When I search for "Transport return code invalid" in google it says somthing to do with java RMI..

Since the issue is intermittent it is difficult to find the pattern of the failure and arrive at some conclusion of the issue.

The one thing about OpenDeploy is that it never gives enough information to debug a issue with deployment.

I dont know whether interwoven is doing something improve the logging information for opendeploy.
