Webtop 6.5 windows 7 IE 8

I have windows 7 and IE 8, when trying to access my webtop link http://xyz.xx.yy.zz:8080/webtop I got the following error message that my browser does not meet requirements (see image), I click "Ok" and it show me the login screen, I do have Java JRE 1.5.0.22 (I tested with Jave 6 update 20 but got same error),

We have Documentum 6.5 SP2

Can anyone help to fix this?

Each Documentum software release is certified for specific environments. I would suggest checking the release notes for your version of Webtop. Webtop 6.5 SP2 for example is not certified for Windows 7 or IE8 - which is why you're getting the warning message about the browser version not being supported.

I used windows 7 with IE 8 and havent faced any problem for webtop 6.5 sp2.

To get rid of the message box, there will be one tag in webtop where you can specify the supported browsers information. Once you add that ifnormation, you will not get prompted

Thank you, I already looked at Webtop 6.5 SP2 and there is not support for windows 7 / IE8, have you had a chance to work with this environment? if yes, have you found any issues?

Dnvhariprasad, thank you for this information how much time have been working with this configuration? Also which version of Java do you have? Right now Version 6 Update 20 will this work too?

Webtop will probably work with unsupported versions of OS, browser & Java. This is OK from a development point of view. Please bear in mind that uncertified platforms are unsupported platforms - i.e. if it doesn't work, don't export the support team to help out.

You can find the setting at \webtop\wdk\app.xml

Add the version 8.0 along with 6.0,7.0

</windows>

Make sure that you extend this tag in your custom/app.xml file
