TeamSite Monitor

I may implement a system monitor to check on TeamSite, and OD. I know that I can check the services etc to verify they are running, but are there any other things that would be good to test on a regular basis...

system load, disk space, http response, etc.

I want to implement something that may give me warning when things go wrong, but I don't want the monitor to shut down the system. :-)

i'm looking at nagios right now which looks very cool.

Things I have done

Check your web server http://server:81/iw-mount/default/main/branch/WORKAREA/foo

check that you can write to a file

touch /iwmnt/default/main/branch/WORKAREA/test

If you use SSL with OD, do NOT perform a TCP check against the receiver ports. This tends to bring them down (at least it did a year ago for us). Our receivers sans-SSL did not have the monitor issue.
