Query on simple search process

Hi,

I would like to know how simple search works.

I have an environment set up where folder level security is implemented.

I have two users, where UserA is having Delete permission and UserB is having Browse permission on the folder object.

When I'm doing simple search based on object name "12345980" using UserA, I'm able to fetch the records. However, when i'm doing simple search based on object name "12345980" using UserB, none of the records are retrieved.

Full Text index is in place and running. When I searched using advanced search I'm able to fetch records for both user's. I passed the value "12345980" in contains textbox.

Any idea why search is behaving differently.

Which version of Content Server and Webtop are you using?

Simple search is doing a full-text search.  I guess if you dont have access content, the content server might not allow you to search against the full-text.  The advanced search is doing a database search on the object name, so browse permission will give you access to object/attributes.
