While installing OD 6.02 SP1 the other day, I munged some configuration files and accidentally enabled SSL on a host that should *not* use SSL. After about 3 hours of debugging, I finally figured out that disabling SSL on the receiver would solve all of my problems. While this was carelessness on my part, I could have saved a lot of time if OD had logged properly. I am a bit curious why error messages are not more verbose. The only errors in the rcvr log files were:
od.log:
LIB: 2005-10-11 15:26:37 ERROR: Accept Socket error.
sdev-stage_odrcvr.log:
ENG: 2005-10-11 15:49:34 PDT GMT-07:00 ***ERROR - Listener accept failed. IOException: java.io.IOException
any chance of getting an error message in the receiver log such as:
"Rejecting deploy from ABC due to SSL handshake failed"
On a related note, it looks like that pesky memory leak is finally resolved. After 4,000+ deploys, my receiver has not crashed yet! (Wooho!)
