Hi all,

how to create two different author workflow for different branch. can we use teh same author.wft for performing this workflow or should we use two diffent wft files.

one more question: for a specific folder under one branch alone has to go through different workflow. how to achive this.

First - you need to provide a bit more information - such as what version of TeamSite, including SP level (I'll presume TS 6.5 SP2).

Second - you need to also include information about which UI is being used (CCPro or CCStd or both - I'll presume CCPro only)

The answer to the first question depends on whether or not the behavior of the 'author workflow' should be the same or different on the different branches.

If the behavior should be the same - then absolutely - use the same WFT.
If the behavior should be slightly different - you could use the same WFT with conditional code that checks the value of __VALUE__(iw_workarea) or __VALUE__(iw_branch) to determine which tasks should included / excluded - and/or - perform the same check in externaltask and/or cgitask scripts accordingly.

The second question is trickier - certain methods of triggering a workflow will track the directory from which a submit or new job is initiated, which jobs initiated via tt_data (from saving/closing a DCR) does not track the directory from which the operation was initiated (I believe there's a long-time bug/feature-request filed on this).

For the first case - it's a matter of setting up the branch_list regex's in the available_templates.cfg accordingly. However - even in this case there are situations where it won't work - like if you initiate a submit operation from a List Modified listing - in which case the files can come from multiple directories.

There are some other factors that may play a part too. So in order to get a relaible answer to the question - the question needs to be much more detailed.
