Display column with decimal value as whole number

Hi,

In Webtop 6.5Sp2, when I traverse to a folder, we have set the column preferences to display custom attributes in the screen.

I have a custom attribute which is displays as decimal value. I would like to format the value so that it should be displayed as whole number.

Please help me on this.

Did you try formatters? Check WDK dev guide on how to use the formatters.

Hi,

I have written a docbase object configuration file for that custom type 'docbaseobjectconfiguration_type1.xml' and have added the below entries in XML file.

<names>

<valueformatter>com.mycompany.web.form.control.format.DecimalFormatter</valueformatter>

</attribute>

</names>

</docbaseobjectconfiguration>

</scope>

</config>

Created a class DecimalFormatter which implements IDocbaseAttributeValueFormatter and implemented getAttributeDisplayValue() method.

package com.mycompany.web.form.control.format;

import com.documentum.web.formext.control.docbase.DocbaseObject;
import com.documentum.web.formext.control.docbase.IDocbaseAttributeValueFormatter;

public class DecimalFormatter implements IDocbaseAttributeValueFormatter
{

public String getAttributeDisplayValue(String strValue, DocbaseObject arg1)
{
String strFormatVal = null;
System.out.println("strFormatVal"+strFormatVal);
if(strValue!=null && strValue.length()>0)
{
strFormatVal = Integer.toString(Math.round(Float.parseFloat(strValue)));
System.out.println(strFormatVal);
}
return strFormatVal;
}

}

But, this method itself is not called when the attribute is displayed in the screen and the value is not formatted. Can you please let me know whether I have missed out any configuration apart from this. Do I need to include anything in the XML or any files.
