Group Vs Role

Hi

I am aware of basic differences between group and role but still had one query.I know that if a user belongs to 1000 groups  then it takes time during the login to the repository.Is this the cases if he belongs to the 1000 roles or will that be different from 1000 groups?

a role is a group..... I would expect the same behaviour.... if user belongs to 1000+ groups it might be time to reevaluate your security system
