Using Custom 17-20 fields

Is there a way to changed this field to VarChar 32 and then use it on our Dialog Forms. We have a client that has used up all other available fields and still needs more. I figured how we could change this in SQL but Interwoven won't let us enter data in the field after it has been changed. Any suggestions on how to make this work and if it is feasible?

I don't believe this is possible, the application is expecting the database field to be of a certain size and type, and Worksite isn't designed to change these fields.
