Email Notification on Folders

Hi
I am using worksite server 7.5, mailsite 4.1 and sdk 3.1.
I am able using vb and sdk tools to put a document into an iManage folder.
The iManage folder has an email notification on it to trigger an email when a document is added - this it does if I drag the doc in, but via vb the notification is not triggered. I guess I have a vital bit of code missing any help appreciated.
