using cookies before and after closing visual prev

Hi all

Environment : Teamsite 6.5, Unix

I have a script (ipl file) which generates a html file with javascript embedded in it. The javascript make use of cookies for browse button back functionality (customize). It works fine with the visual preview tool bar. Once I close the visual preview tool bar, everything goes for a toss.

What seems to happen is as soon as you close visual preview, the cookie values are reset. These are the cookies values taken from the cookies folder of local machine after opening the file with the javascript from teamsite.

You may notice the difference in value at the ">>" regions. Once you reset the values i.e change 1536 to 1024 and 3085409104 to 1701029104 in the cookies file and continue using the link, everything works fine.

Can some one say me what is happening and what I can do about it so that the javascript works even without visual preview.
