Web CMS (TeamSite)
worksitemp4 and java
System
Hello,
I'm running WorksiteMP 4.1.1.5.6 and Java 142.6
There seem to be quite a number of performance issues logging in to Worksite and navigating.
Has anyone run into this and what are the best practices, minumum memory requirements, etc..
thanks for the insight.

Do you have any specific questions?
Migrateduser
essentially..
how do people deal with the need to have the latest version of java on their machine for one app, and 142.6 for worksitemp?
what should the minimum memory req's be on the user machine?
thanks
Nicholas

On a related note:
half a gig of ram per library, 1GB to start
sql server and webapp should be on different boxes, at least P4's I think IWOV is now recommending.
-our boxes are all dual cpu 3.2 Ghz xeons with 2+GB of ram
it's recommended that you offload the ancillary services (james, notification etc...) to another box that doesn't have the CMS on it.
the indexer is a beast, if you have a single server setup or older CPU's it will kick their butts. Have it run offpeak then.
stay with Win2000 AS over 2003 right now, the 2003 support is less than stellar.
I also found that the Tomcat/jsp runs significantly slower over the NET then when over your local LAN (like 50% slower). Not too many optimizations available to address this. I work around it by dropping 'beachead' cheap boxes (think sub $400) with just Fedora, Apache and Tomcat on it and configured to throw all the JSP requests back to the colo webapp server onsite at the remote office. Oh yeah if you do this and you create any custom content it needs to be mirrored in from your collocation servers to the beachhead server else you get broken links inside MP for any relative coded connectors or content.
