Generated files showing Modifier as SYSTEM

Hi,

When I am generate a file more than once, sometimes, the Modified By column shows the modifier as SYSTEM.
The then becomes non-editable.

Can anyone explain what can be the reason for this?
The extension of the file being generated is .xml

Okay, so we can tell that you're on a Windows platform, but what version of TS? How exactly are you generating the file the first time and then subsequent times? What are the exact permissions of the file after the first generation and then after subsequent generations? What permissions does the logged-in user have?

Current Environments:
(1) TS 6.5 on W2K3 (x2 - diff. imp.)
(3) Vignette V7 Portal on Solaris 9

We are using TS 6.1.0. The permission the users have is AUTHOR but they the ADMINISTRATOR in that workarea.We are genrating a simple xml.But whenever we edit that particular xml and do some modification and then regenerate it is shows modigied by SYSTEM.
