Forms Builder Search template - Add popups

Hi,

I have created a search form using Forms Builder's search template. Now I can search my docbase and get the results perfectly.

Now, my next requirement is, when I double click one of the search result row, I have to show a popup with some dynamic values. Is it possible? I didnt use wdk for generate the form, I used Forms Builder template and the form is created. Now can I customise it to show a popup with dynamic content? I am planning to build the popup using JSP and show this jsp popup on clicking the result row. Kindly give me some idea.. One additional info, I am showing this search form in Taskspace.

I use Dctm 6.5, Jboss 4.2.

First of all, the db-click is managed on two levels,

1. JSP of the wdk component which will render the search result datagrid

2. The behavior class of the wdk component in which a method "onClickObject" is implemented, in this method, the correct action is called according to the type of the object, for example, if it is a document, it will be opened under Open Item, ect.

Now what you need to do is :

1. Create a new wdk component which will display what you need from the selected object

2. Create a new wdk action to launch the wdk component

3. Customize the wdk component mentionned above to use the new wdk action in the onClickObject method instead of the standard one.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I understood that way you explained to call popup from the wdk component. This will work if the first page is the jsp page.

But here the first page is the Search form developed in Forms Builder. How can I even get hold of onClickObject method of the Search Form?

If you are familiar with WDK development, you can do it easily

Search template from forms builder uses search component in taskspace. You can extend this component and provide your custom class file.

Sorry I am not very much familiar with WDK component. I will look into cusotmising Search template. Could you please just let me know that whether the following is even possible ??

My first page is the Search form built in Forms builder. On double clicking one of the search results ( or I can select a row and click a button), I should show the complete information in the popup. For that, I have to pass some parameters from the Search form to the popup. What all I thought was as the form is developed in FormsBuilder I cant catch the onClick event, so I cant do it...

place the following xml in your custom folder and name it something

Actually the intention of taskspace is to configure not to customize... I dont know whether EMC supports extending taskspace components. However since Taskspace is built on WDK and XForms, same logic as webtop still applies and we used it.
