Getting Component instance in jsp

Hi All,

I am using Documentum 6.5. I am trying to call a JSP on clicking a datagrid row from another JSP. This is what I am trying to do:

In the first JSP's datagrid row I am calling the following event :

<dmf:datagridRowEvent eventname="dblclick" eventhandler="onDoubleClick"> <dmf:argument name='Param1' datafield='ID' /> </dmf:datagridRowEvent>

Then onDoubleClick method I do the business logic and get the string message that I want to show in the second jsp. I call it as "StatusMessage" and added in argument list "args". From here to invoke the second jsp, I call the ActionService.execute():

ActionService.execute("popupAction", args, getContext(), this, null);

Under custom/config/actions/validation_actions.xml I define a new action with the above action id : "popupAction"

Hi Again,

I posted my action xml, component xml, code snippets from jsp and java too. But for some reason the post was not displayed fully.

In brief, I wanted to call a jsp(popup) from another custom jsp on clicking the datagrid row. I had double click event written and inside the event handler I called ActionService.execute method to invoke the jsp. In my actions xml, I had the action xml:

<params> <param name="StatusMessage" required="true"/> </params>

<preconditions/>

<execution> <component>PopupPage</component>

<arguments> <argument name="StatusMessage" alias="StatusMessage"/>  </arguments>

Then in the component xml with the same 'PopupPage' component id,

<scope> <component id="PopupPage">

<params> <param name="StatusMessage" required="true"/> </params><pages> <start>/custom/library/validation/popup.jsp</start> </pages> <class>

com.mycompany.Popup</class>

In the init() of the Popup.java, I get the arguments and wrap getter method around it. In the popup.jsp, I try to get the component like,

Popup component = (Popup)pageContext.getAttribute(Form.FORM, PageContext.REQUEST_SCOPE);

It throws ClassCastException, but if I change to APPLICATION_SCOPE or SESSION_SCOPE the returned component is NULL.

Kindly help me.. Hope this whle message should be displayed now...
