max length of windows group name?

Anyone know, off-hand, the maximum length of a Windows group name? and/or the number of characters within which it has to be unique (if less than the length of the actual name)?

I'm throwing together some code to generate group names based on branch structure and would like to know about such obstacles *before* I try to put the code into usage.

According to one article on MSDN:

User account names are limited to 20 characters and group names are limited to 256 characters. In addition, account names cannot be terminated by a period and they cannot include commas or any of the following printable characters: ", /, \, [, ], :, |, <, >, +, =, ;, ?, *. Names also cannot include characters in the range 1-31, which are nonprintable.

Great - Thanks! I'm well within the limits and the only non alphabetic character I'm using is '_'

No problem. BTW, in case this is different in different versions of Windows (that info is for Win2k, I believe), the information can also be found by using the ? button on the create new group dialog.
