Validation For DCR's

Hi All,

I am trying to create DCR's automatically by reading the content from a flat file. I am able to generate DCR's but not able to do any validations like if some field is required and corresponding to that there is no entry in the flat file, still it creates a DCR with the required field being empty. Does anyone know about any validation command to check at the time of automaticlly creating the DCR about the required fields. If anyone has faced similar problems please let me know. Or if there is any workaround please let me know.

Vipin,

While creating the DCR on the fly.. you must be setting the EA for each file. As far as validating the DCR is concerened, it can be done using its related datacapture.cfg.

As you have already set the EA for the file created, it would gives you error (if coded) while editing the DCR. I believe, NOT before that.

If you are programmatically generating the DCR without using the Edit DCR UI - then you must programmatically perform the validation.

If you are programmatically generating the DCR and then loading it into the Edit DCR UI - the OOTB validation-regex's and any custom FormAPI code you've included in the DCT will provide the validation (still coding, but at a different level)
