Checked out files path

Hello,

Could anyone give me some idea how I can get checked out file's directory? I mean in webtop when a user checks out a document, on the server site I want to obtain the checked out file's path on remote client and pass the files path to another method . Does checkout container has such a functionality or not?

Path is stored in the set_file attribute for the dmr_content object associated with the file.

Hi thanks for your reply ,

but in set_file attribute there is the path of the set file not the file's check out directory path. For example when I make a query on set file I get this.

C:\Users\hp\myCertificate.cer

but

actually the file's check out directoory is

C:\Users\hp\Documentum\Checkout\myCertificate.cer

Oops, you're right, thats only for import. Since the checkout location can be specified by each user, this information is stored in either browser cookie or part of user preferences in global registery. Its not stored in the object model/database. There might be a DFC method that can pick up this value - see javadocs for more details.

Have you tried auditing the checkout event? Maybe the content server puts this checked out location in the audit trails.

Thank you for your reply.I have started to working on this issue again after one year.

When I turn on auditing for checkin event the server creates an entry for setfile event as well.In this entry the full path where the file is set (the clients machine) is also recorded.But checkout event does not .

Any other ideas?

As stated in previous post, this is probably stored in global registery or cookie. Look at IPreferenceStore class to retrieve user preference values.
