Which Workarea?

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a way out as from where i can get the workarea or the source path from which the user has clicked over File >> New Form Entry?

Actually there is branch name hidden within the workarea and depending on branch value... we have to juggle around with some fields.

All suggestions are welcome.

You didn't explicitly say which version of TeamSite you're using but your signature file suggests you're on 6.1. There's a variable called "area_path" in the 6.5 DCT's which I'm pretty sure is there for 6.1 DCT's. So, there's that. If you're calling an ipl script from a DCT (for instance, iwperl include_metadata.ipl) which acts as a reusable component, you could also refer to it as $ENV{'IW_WORKAREA'}.

Get Category/Type: IWDatacapture.getFormType()

So, it means if we use http://something.com/iw/webdesk/newdcr?area_path=$main_path&myvar=$value from a CGI, then can anyone help me out as how to retrieve the value of vpath and myvar with in the DCT formAPI?

- newdcr is a legacy URL Command. I would recommend to change it
to newform. As far as I can tell, gWorkarea and getFormType will work
from there.

- I am not aware of any supported mechanism to provide
your own CGI parameters using CC URL commands
