SNMP for 6.X
System
Hi Everyone,
We have a problem installing SNMP monitoring environment. We basically have three servers, 2 base servers and 1 client server. We have so far created 3 property files for all three servers and created 3 instances for three files using iwodinsttool. We are still not able to monitor anything.
We are using windows platform.
Thanks
RJ303

Is the OD SNMP service configured and started for each instance?

Possibly odsnmp.xml isn't configured correctly, or the MIB hasn't been defined to your network manager.
You might want to open a case with Tech Support so that they can walk you through the set-up process.

Hi Todd,
One more question for you.
Do we need to have an external monitoring tool in order t use the SNMP feature?
thank you,

Yes. OpenDeploy is SNMP-enabled so that you can monitor it using a standard network monitoring tool. Essentially, the OD base servers and receivers can be treated like devices on the network.
