write to a word document

Hi,

I have a requirement where I have to write stuff to a word document through a perl file.

I tried creating a folder called Win32 and then a sub folder called Word and put all the files (writer.pm,etc) in that. Then I edited the perl file to write code to write to a perl file but got following error:

Can't locate Win32/Word/Writer/Table.pm in @INC (@INC contains: c:/TeamSite/iw-perl/lib c:/TeamSite/iw-perl/site/lib C:\TeamSite\iw-perl\vendor\lib .) at c:/TeamSite/iw-perl/lib/Win32/Word/Writer.pm line 148.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at c:/TeamSite/iw-perl/lib/Win32/Word/Writer.pm line 148.
Compilation failed in require at .\find.pl line 7.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at .\find.pl line 7.

Any idea as to how to do this.

You're missing bits... Install the whole package.

Hi,

I downloaded the tar from http://search.cpan.org/~johanl/Win32-Word-Writer-0.02/lib/Win32/Word/Writer.pm
I then extracted the tar, created a folder called Win32 within <iw-home>/iw-perl/lib directory and copied the extracted folder to Win32.

Do I have to install the package some other way?

Were there any files that contained the words "read" and "me" in the filename? If so - did you "read" "them"?

Generally when you download a package from CPAN you need to "build" it - by doing something like:
- iwperl Makefile.PL
- make
- make test
- make install

(you can actually, usually, just do 'make install' which should do build, test, and installation)

Yes, I did go through readme file.
It did not have any installation steps.
I also tried running Makefile.pl and following were the results:

I installed all the prerequisite modules and still running Makefile.pl for Win32::Word::Writer gave the same errors.

Thanks for update Dhruv, I have work in near future. Will try doing this once I get a chance. I will update if got succeed. Well this thread surely a good ref for me.
