MBContainer class
Hemmie
Hi .
I have to rewrite the old java interface api's to new webservice calls.
In the old interface has a method getDescription in Container class.
I couldnt find an exact correspondent for the getDesription method in new web services call.
Also wondering is there any similar methods for isLoggedon() isLoggedOff() in new webservice calls.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I can answer the first question. As of MB 4.0 and beyond containers can have their own metadata. This change made the old container description field obsolete. I'll pass the second question along to our API guru.

With the introduction of container metadata, the description field of a container was removed.
There is no equivalent webmethod to isLoggedOn() or isLoggedOff() because the webservice was designed with no explicit Logon or Logoff method. Each web method is atomic and performs the logon\logoff internally. If your application requires a persistent connection (i.e. if you will be making a large number of webservice requests within a small period of time), then you will want to make a call to BeginPersistentConnection before making any other calls.
To test the webservice connection, you can use the following methods:
ValidateCurrentUser - doesn't log into the MediaBin server, but validates that the webservice is installed correctly.
GetMediaBinServerName - logs into the MediaBin server and returns its display name. An exception is thrown if a connection to the MediaBin server could not be made.
