Opendeploy Upgradation

Hi all,

We are going to upgrade from teamsite 5.5 to teamsite 6.5 .Now for that we will also have to upgrade our Opendeploy from 5.6 to 6.2. My questions are :
1. Can we use Opendeploy 5.6(in teamsite server)with teamsite 6.5 instead of upgrading it to opendeploy 6.2?
2. if we cannot use opendeploy 5.6 with teamsite 6.5, Can we use Opendeploy 6.2 at base server and Opendeploy 5.6 at receiver server. will there be any issues with different Opendeploy versions.We will face this situation because we are doing migration branch by branch and we will have two teamiste servers(teamsite 5.5 and teamiste 6.5). So for the sites which are on teamsite 5.5 we need to have Opendeploy 5.6 at reciever server.

Hi.

you can use OD 5.5 with teamsite 6.5. the only thing the OD 5.5 will be responsible for Web assets and will not bridge between Relational database and the Teamsite Store.
Better share your req with Interwoven support and they will give you a broad scenerio about the issue which could be happen.

Note: It's OD 6.0.2 not 6.2
If you check the support site you should be able to find a compatibility matrix for which of the versions of their products work with which other versions of their products.
However, from recollection (should be verified) - if you are not using TeamSite based deployments (i.e. those that have to interact directly with the TeamSite server to evaluate things like ".../EDITION", ".../EDITION/IW_PREV") - then you should be able to use any version of OD (though I still believe that upgrading is a good thing to do - to pick up bug fixes and enhancements if nothing else).

You should also be able to deploy from a 6.0.2 Base Server to a 5.6 Receiver -- though you again should check the support site, I seem to recall that there was a bug with one of these down-path deployments - I believe for filelist deployments - which requires a patch be applied on one side or the other.
