Changing Title/label of an Item

Hi,

I am trying to figure out a way to Change the title/label of an item dynamically in the DCT , is this possible?

Scenario:
On item change in a drop down/ select box, i am displaying certain items. For one of the item i want the value selected above as the title/label of the item.

What i understand from the description is that the user wants to change the label on selection of the value from the dropdown. For example in DCT the content editor see like:

Marital Status * [Dropdown]
Name of Husband/Father * [Textfield]

Suppose, a girl has to fill the form. If she selects her status as married then the label of text field should be Name of Husband else it would be Name of Father.

You got part of the thing. Suppose the drop down list has three values..

1)Bluetooth
2)GPRS
3)Memory

Now if i select Bluetooth the content editor must see

a Text field with Label as Bluetooth
i.e
He should see:

===========================================
____________________
Bluetooth |___________________|

==========================================

The drop down list may have 50-60 values.

If it is possible to send the parameter to inline callout on DCT than it cud be easy task.
I have a long solution for that.

1) Make a cgi callout with "select".
2) On CGIscript access the value of selected item.
3) From script itself set this vaue in a txt file.
4) On script refresh the form.
4)Using inline callout include this file on DCT.
