Calling Open Deploy within workflow
rudra
Hi,
I am using Teamsite 6.5 SP1. I am calling a external task from the workflow. This is invoking a IPL file which in turn invokes a OD script. What is happening is whenever the OD script is being called from within the workflow, a segmentation error is being reported in the logs and the OD is not getting triggered. Could anyone help me on this please?
Thanks,
Rudranil

Are you able to run the ipl from command line? Try to run it frm command line with iw_perl ipl file jobid task id areavpath
and attach the segmentation fault screen shot as well

Hi,
I am able to run the ipl from the command prompt with the arguments that you have mentioned. It is only when the WF is calling the IPL that the error is occuring. Even the IPL is executing correctly, but the Open Deploy is giving error. Another point is that this Open Deploy is working correctly if run from the console. I have attached the screenshot for your reference.
Thanks,
Rudranil

seems to be user id who is running your external task from WF doesnt have enough permission... try changing this iw_user in your task to root ..and then try to run the WF ....hop it may help :-)

What version of OpenDeploy are you using?
What is the error that OpenDeploy is giving?

Hi,
Could you tell me where i need to change the user to root. Is it in the available_templates.cfg file? Also will it help if the open deploy is run with the user that is running the workflow.
Thanks,
Rudranil

The user is the owner of the externaltask (or cgitask) from which the script is executed to run OpenDeploy
