Authentication using Basic Identity

Hello,

I am developing connector to Documentum from php system. Currently I use RepositoryIdentity to authenticate to documentum and upload content to users home cabinet. I recently reread information about identities id development guide and it seems to me, that I should be able to authenticate just by Basic Identity and then put my content to the global repository without the need to explicitly specify its name. (Now I'm doing so anyway because I have only one repository anyway). Is this idea correct?

If so, what repository name (or rather constant) should be specified in ObjectIdentity when uploading/creating content?
