TeamSite 6.5 Favorites "Disappearing"

We are using TeamSite 6.5, and we have a user who has said that her stored Favorites will "disappear" at night. Some will stay, and some will appear to be deleted (usually ones directly linking to a workarea). Then sometimes they reappear the next day. Recently she got a new PC and now all of her Favorites are gone.

We have checked her entity database record, and it appears that she still has Favorites although we cannot tell what they are because they are encrypted (and she cannot see them in TS). Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Our first thought was that her entity record got corrupted, so we're considering deleting it and letting it recreate itself. Any better suggestions?

Hi Sarah,
could you explain what "favorite disappers" means?
Is the favorite completely gone or is it marked is missing element
(you can see a missing element favorite e.g. if you delete the target
directory where the favorite points on)?

Hi Stefan,
According to the user there is a particular favorite (pointing to a commonly used workarea) that she no longer sees listed in her Favorites. She has added it back several times but then she'll go in the next morning and it will be gone (although other Favorites stay put).

So, to answer your question I'm not sure if it's completely gone or if there's some type of corruption so that it is stored in her entity file but she just cannot view it. And maybe the fact that she keeps adding it back is compounding the problem. I do know that the workarea she is trying to bookmark has not (and cannot) be deleted by a regular user.

If you are still working with this, try doing an iwprop for that user and see what information is stored for her in the entity database. I have seen a case where I believe there was corruption in the entity database and some users' favorites would disappear anytime a UI rebuild happened. When I would do an iwprop for their userid, I would be told that they didn't exist.
