Problem while installing IndexServer

Hi Mathew,

We are installing Indexserver 6.5 sp3 .While installing it saying the default port
number that is
IndexSrver base port number (13000)is already is used by other application.

But we have uninstalled previous IS,which is present in host machine.

How to find out the particular port number (13000)is used by which application and how to make it as a open port(i.e. reused).

For the Reference please find the attachment.

Please any one help me.

Maybe some process still uses a required port.

No applications listed that are using ports between 13000 and 17000? Then you should submit a Service Request...

Hi Mikolas,

I installed IS with port no:14000,

It installed successfully.

But my problem not solved that how to find out the which application service using default port no:13000.

Hi pankaj,

I Configured IA1(Index Agent1) in migration mode and logged in IS machine.

Now i want to know how to find out Previous doc's are indexed in migration mode.And i want to convert it into Normal mode.

Do u have any idea.

You can do it in three ways:

1. Run the dm_FTStateOfIndex job and see if the object IDs of the documents which should have been indexed are in the docids-common.txt file generated by the job. You should find the files generated by the dm_FTStateOfIndex job in the %Documentum%\dba\log\<docbaseid>\sysadmin folder on the Content Server.

2. Check the Index Queue using DA, if it is empty or still there are some documents Awaiting Indexing/indexing in Progress State.

3.You can use the query with random r_objectId to see if the indexing is happening.

Select * from dm_document Search Document Conatins '<r_object_id>';

or if you know the count for specific types you may match using below query:

Select count(r_object_id) from dm_document(ALL) Search Document Contains 'r_object_type <MATCHES> arc_controlled_doc';

Once your indexing is finished(check Index Queue), delete the existing IA using Index Sever Configuration and create new one in Normal mode.

Hi Pankaj,

I configured New IndexAgent (port no:9084)With one docbase on IndexServer machine on windows OS.

And I Tried to Configured other IA3 on same machine for differenr Docbase with port No:9085.

It's not taking and i go through the "netstat -an" i cmd prompt port no 9085 is not available still it is not taking while configuring IA3.

for IA1--- 9200 & IA2----9084 and for

IA3 I have tried 9085 and 10 consecutive numbers it is not taking .

It is giving the ports which have entered are not available.

I need to know why it is giving this type of error and i want to know how to find out the ports which are not visibling.

Please help me I strucked here.

Try on port 9220 or 9240. Below is the description from Index Server Installation guide

"Ports to use for the index agent

The index agent runs in the application server container. When an index agent instance is

configured, you need to designate two ports for the index agent and application server to use.

The default ports for the first index agent on a host are 9200 and 9080. The default for any other

index agents are 90220 for index agent 2, 9240 for index agent 3, and so on. If the index agent is

on the Content Server host, ensure that the ports are not the ports used for the application server

instance in which the Java method server and ACS server run."
