inline - fetching data from database
vanesh
Iam calling an inline command for getting some DB data and trying to populate a drowpdown in a metadata datacapture form. The callout works fine and iam able to fetch data and fill the drop down with the values.
But in some cases it fails when the data in the table contains special charecters like '&', '<' and '>'
Instead of populating the dropdown I'm getting this error:
Templating Error Page
"There was a problem with metadata capture configuration. Please contact your system administrator."
Can anyone help me how to overcome this problem.
Thanks in advance

MDCT is an XML file. so, one should always remember to encode necessary entities, especially the characters that you are mentioning as they are breaking underlying XML.
Your <substritution> lines should also produce valid XML

You could use CGI::escapeHTML() or TeamSite::CGI_lite->escape_html_data().

or HTML::Entities

SAX Parse:The entity name must immediately follow the '&' in the entity reference.
