Hi All,
I'm a newbie with Documentum. However I have previously actively worked with Document Management Systems and rolled my own solutions too.
I'm starting with XCP for case management applications. I have gone through both the tutorials [grants management and mail manager]. Though these are nice, I'm facing problems in getting my head around HOW to implement a particular solution. While going through the tutorials, their docs, and the video tutorial, I'm getting 2 different experiences.
The mail manager application is explained in detail, but is a very simple application, while the Grants Management application is complex, but not explained in detail so that the work can be replicated. What I was trying was to get to somehow reverse engineer each aspect of this application so that I can understand the hows and the whys of the application.
Can anyone guide me as to how to get started with developing a basic XCP application? This would be highly appreciated.
I'm thinking of going with a very simple application like a Leave application, where an employee can apply for a leave, and a manager grants it or rejects it. In case the number of days applied is more than a certain threshold, then the leave application will have to additionally be approved by a senior manager.
This looks like a simple enough way to start, and though it is similar to the Mail Manager application, it is still getting me stuck in starting the implementation.
Thanks in advance for all advice on this.
