Tip: enable edit of My Workareas in CC-Std
RonaldV
Hi all,
some of you might already have found this feature but Iwov has pretty well hidden this handy feature so I better share it with you.
You can let the users of CC-Standard edit the list of 'My Workareas' (and all workarea-dropdonws) by adding this line to your application_custom.xml
<param id="iw.common.my_workareas.configurable.property" value="true" />
It's all in the manuals but I wonder why Iwov hide a feature like this by disabling it by default. It's always easier to disable a feature you know about then to enable one you don't know about.
Iwov, can you turn this feature on by default for new installs?

It’s cool.
Generally, with TeamSite, many area's they left for developers to explore so developers wouldn't feel awkward anytime. It's also the matter of curiosity to know the product's technique. As of my opinion, this would be one of the reasons that TeamSite is that popular and developers want to be a Interwoven Developers. Well no doubt product is good. This is completely my opinion, may be other dis-agrees.
Thanks Nicholas

I have a different opinion about this particular feature.
As a matter of fact, it was introduced 'thanks' to me. I was the first to report a dramatic performance degradation in TeamSite, and, basically, without this patch CC STD was unisable by my client - transition time for some users was about 3-4 minutes. I took part in the testing and acceptance of the patch.. and probably many of its features....
I think it's hidden because IWOV did not want to admit that such an issue does exist. At least they did not want to advertise that. And, also, if you don't have that issue, probably you don't need to tweak the previous functioanlity.. so I think the default absence of this functionality does make sense.

The reason this option was disabled by default was to keep the product and user experience backwards compatible. This change was introduced in a service pack where we typically try not to change end-user experience..

Hi Sunil,
Why don't Interwoven write some PDFs for such features/cases, so this history track would be available to persons also who joined this community later otherwise there is no source for such information. Or something Interwoven have already written?
Thanks Nicholas
