Multi Threaded Data Deploy?
nickcolorado
Hi,
It appears that our datadeploy installation is not allowing multiply deployments to run at once.
If we initiae one data deployment and then initiate a second data deployment while the first deployment is still running, the second deployment will not start until the first one is complete.
This is causing us major issues as we have a very busy teamsite/deployment environment and some deployments take several minutes, holding up other's deployments until the first is complete.
Is there any way to get the deployments to run asynchronously and not block until all prior deployments are complete?
We are running OpenDeploy/Datadeploy 6.0.0.0.0 Build 36714 son Solaris.
Thanks,
Nick

Try using the "exec-process" flag of the "databaseDeployment" element in the server config file odbase.xml

Also consider upgrading to a newer version of OD/DD. DD improvements were made after 6.0.0.

Thanks for the reply.
However, I am unable to find any documentation on the "exec-process" flag of the "databaseDeployment" element in the server config file odbase.xml.
I checked the opendeploy and datadeploy admin and the opendeploy and datadeploy install guides and do not see any mention of this setting.
Can you point me in the right direction to determine if this in fact will solve our issue.
Thank you!

I apologize... I didn't look at the version you are running. execProcess is an attribute in the odbase.xml file. It was introduced in 601. It allows parallel deployments from the command line.
