teamsite disk space problem
madmax
hi all,
Here is the situation. In teamsite server we have
iw-home,Interwoven,iwinstall,IWOV_Upgrades and IWTemp in drive "D:".currently "d:" drive is consumed 90% of it's space with these folders. So we need bigger disk space for all those folder.
Now if we add bigger disk to teamsite server and then just copy and paste all those folder to the new hard drive , will that create problem for us. FYI it's a production box .
case1: if we copy all those folder to the same drive letter "d:" then i think i did not need to do any modification on any configuration file.
case2: If we copy to some other drive letter then what are the files that i need to update?
thanks in advance.

Make sure the new drive has NTFS permissions so that the user permissions copy over correctly.
I would stop all services, "copy" everything over to the larger drive, then swap the drive letters around, so that the new drive drive is now D and the old drive is now E or whatever you want it to be.
This would be the easiest option and should cause you the lease amount of headaches since you aren't really touching the original files.

Thanks .
I'll discuss this migration with our server ops as you said to be cautious about NTFS permissions.
