Accessing elements in DCT

Hi All,
I am facing problem in accessing element name in HTML which is generated by InterWoven 6.5 for DCT.
When we access element by getName() method, we get xpath of the element and not the actual name in the HTML.
For example , if i try to acccess an item inside the replicant using
var nameItem = iwItem.getName();
i am getting the "replicant_name/index/element_name" and the value for index may be 0,1etc.
When i see the HTML , i found that this index value is some random number .
For example in my case i get the name in HTML as "replicant_name/35/element_name".
So i want to know how to access the name which is present in the HTML,is there any means by which i can access that name .

I guess you need to thoroughly explain your process and the issue. so far I am having trouble to understand what's happening and what's required. Also, try to use correct terminology.
