How to automatic compete a task on manual activity

Hi All,

Any one Know how to complete a manual activity task. My requirement is

I have an manual activity for approver and approver can approve and reject the task. If approver can not reject the task with in 3 days than task will automatic reject and mail is send to approver.

But when I set rejection on a manual activity than there in no complete action in timer tab of activity inspector. If i am not using rejection than complete task action is working fine. Can any one suggest me, how can I use both rejection and timer complete task action on a manual activity.

As far as I know, Timer can only reject the task, so it's the same as the approver would have rejected it.

Maybe if you write your own "monitoring job" which can route to the "complete route" when the configured time has been reached.

This is another option. I don't know for sure if this will work or is in line with your use case

1.) Define process variable "taskApproved"of type boolean

2.) In the manual activity use "select next activities based on conditions" option

3.) Create transition conditions based on taskApproved process variable i..e go to previous (rejected) activity if value of this variable is false, else to to the next activity

4.) Use timer action of complete the activity and to set the value of process variable taskApproved to false

5.) Create a custom form for the manual activity. In the form show a check box .. for "approve"/ "reject" option

Hello,

You could write a java method to be called by the timer (after these 3 days). The java method would reject or finish the activity for you and you could still use the activity to send the notification email for you, ie, no need to write code for that.
