Deployment of static content to the app server

I'm running a J2EE application on Tomcat and would like to deploy my static TeamSite content (HTML fragments, images, docs, etc.) to a directory that is outside the webapps directory to avoid having to redeploy all content when there's a new code release. I'd like to be able to reference the content from JSPs within my application. However, this does not seem feasible.

Any thoughts, experiences, etc. to resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
what's with creating a new tomcat context to display your static content?

tomcat/conf/server.xml:

...
<context path="/yourstaticcontent" docBase="/somewhereonyourserver" debug="0" reloadable="false" />
...

Dont't forget to create an empty WEB-INF directory in /somewhereonyourserver...

That's right, or you could use the default ROOT context which would be referenced by /

So, from within your primary application, you would reference files within the secondary application you created (e.g., <jsp:include page="/yourstaticcontent..."/>)?
