server-side includes

I'm having problems virtualizing pages that contain server-side includes. I've installed the IIS rewrite plug-in, and that appears to be running ok, but when I click on a .shtml page in TeamSite, the page renders but I get the text 'Error processing SSI file' where the file should be included. The includes work fine when they are deployed out to our test server. What I'd like to do is pull in the version of the included file from STAGING, wherever the calling file is within the branch.

I'm assuming that the 'post-rewrite url' is where the Customer Web Server is looking for the file to include - if I copy and paste that url into my browser, the server can find the file, but not, it seems, when it's looking for it to include it in another file. IIS (customer web server) is configured to allow SSI and the MIME type is set for .inc files.

I'd be really grateful if someone could give me a push in the right direction. Thanks.

May be this is a stupid question, but do you have ssi enabled on the virtualization server?

The virtualization web server is the 'customer web server', isn't it? Or am I being really stupid?

You'd have to install and configure TeamSite redirection module. IWOV provides several for various Web Servers.
See TeamSite® Installation Guide, Chapter "Configuring Web Servers", Section "Enabling Server-Side Include Requests".

So the page you are viewing is in the WORKAREA, but the include in the page is in STAGING ?

Where is the root level of IIS pointing for the site ?

Here are the details of my problem -

We are facing issues while including the .inc files in the .tpl files. When we are trying to generate from the DCR, we are getting error as “Error Processing SSI includes”.

We tried generating by keeping the include files in the workarea and it is working. But we want to keep these .inc, .js files at a common location outside the content-store. We added the [iwproxy_plugin_remap] section to iw.cfg to write the proxy remaps and also created a virtual directory so that we can replicate the directory structure on our Portal Web server. But still we are getting SSI include errors.

I am able to reference the images from the virtual directory using the proxy remaps but not able to include .inc files. I am getting error in the iw_isapi.log file. The error is some thing like this –

able to reference the images [...] using the proxy remaps but not include files...

Note that in TeamSite SSI Virtualization differs from the Virtualization of other mark-up components like images, js libraries, css and whatnot.

SSI Virtualization is done by the Web Server Redirect Plug-In (aka ISAPI Filter, for IIS iwproxy_isapi.dll). It's provided by IWOV, you have to install it though.
Mark-up Virtualization is supported by IW Proxy Server and it's corresponding configurations.

Start small. Create a test template that generates nothing but single SSI include and "Hello, Forum!" Page. Try to make that work.
If you still have problems, Post your small template, generated code sample with SSI Directive and [iwproxy_plugin_remap] regexes

Guys,

Have you tried restarting customer web server. I was facing the same issue sometime back. I have enabled iwproxy_plugin_remap in my iw.cfg file and forgot to restart customer web server.
So please have a check on the same i your end.

Thanks for your replies.
I am still getting the same error...
please see the attached small tpl file, viewsource of generated html and [iwproxy_plugin_remap] regexes.
Do you guys see any issues with regexes. I am able to view the image from the same folder in which .inc file is kept. so I think [iwproxy_plugin_remap] regexes are working fine.
I have also attached the portion of iw_isapi.log.

We resolved this problem by keeping the SSI include files in Y: drive instead of keeping them on the other drive like d: drive.
SSI includes you need to metion in the [iwproxy_plugin_remap] section of the iw.cfg and reset the IIS(If you are using IIS).
